My goal as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner is to improve access to mental health and psychiatric care in Wyoming and Idaho, reduce the stigma associated with having a mental illness, and improve quality of life through the promotion of mental wellness.
My philosophy as a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner is to provide treatment options designed to meet each client’s values and goals. I offer compassionate and evidenced-based psychiatric care for the treatment of all mental health disorders through the use of medications, nutraceuticals, healthy thinking strategies, and lifestyle changes.
With additional training and certification in perinatal mental health care, geriatrics, auricular acupuncture, and integrative mental health, I tailor each client’s treatment based on their unique needs. With interventions that incorporate the mind-body connection, I am committed to a holistic approach to mental health treatment often addressing the root cause of a mental health disorder.
I often am asked why I named my business “Lupine Mental Health”. After spending almost 15 years as a wildlife biologist for Grand Teton National Park, I resonate with a special place in the park, called Lupine Meadows, that is filled in the summer with the flower, Lupine. It is there that I decided to change careers and become a mental health provider. In addition, Lupine flower meaning includes imagination, hunger for life, and new opportunities; concepts that Sue work to instill in her clinical practice and personal life.
